2013 Summer Ball Travel Team Only (9 and 10s) |
The Travel teams for the 9-10 group will also be competitive. However, they will require less of a time commitment than the District teams. Like the District teams, each Travel team will be made up of no more than 12 players, selected in the same manner as the District teams. The managers for the respective age groups will choose the next 12 highest ranked players from those not chosen for the District teams and those choosing to play Travel team only. They will base their votes on their experience with the players during the season as well as a one-day evaluation that will be scheduled for a weekend day in early June (tbd). The Travel teams typically play 2 or 3 games a week with 1 stand-alone practice. Travel teams usually participate in the I-84 League and sometimes play in other area tournaments. Travel team players are not subject to the unexcused absence rules of the District teams. There may be more than 1 travel team depending on participation.
By selecting this option - you will not be eligible/select not to play for Districts

2013 Summer Development League (8,9, 10, 11 and 12 year olds) |
After the District and Travel Teams have been selected, the remaining players will comprise our Developmental team(s). The format for the the Developmental program will depend on the number of players involved and the ages of those players. The goal of the program is to provide those players with the opportunity to further develop their skills and play games against other teams during the summer. Depending on the number of players, the Developmental program could consist of a multi-town league, weekend tournaments or participation in one or more summer baseball instructional programs run by the Clubhouse in Fairfield and/or Triple Play in Trumbull. Because the format of the program can not be determined until the number of kids involved is known, those involved who wish not to participate in the format selected will receive a full refund.

2013 Summer Ball Super 8s |
The Eight-year-old Travel team, while focused largely on player development, will also be competitive. Depending on the number of players interested, there may be more than one eight-year-old travel team. If there are more than 12 players, but not enough for a second team, those players not selected for the eight-year-old travel team will be placed on a developmental team. The number of participants will also determine how many games the team will play and in what tournaments they enter.
